Employability at KS 3

Within the college all Key Stage 3 students will study Employability every year.

The department currently delivers the CCEA Employability in Year 8 & 9 and 10.  The Employability Module in Year 10 is designed with a view to prepare pupils for subject choice at the end of Key Stage 3. It is an opportunity for pupils to be introduced to a programme of self-assessment, Personal Career Planning, decision making and job research. The latter is ongoing throughout the remainder of the Careers Programme.  An Options week will take place in the school when departments will each get an opportunity to speak to Year 10 about their subject at GCSE level to ensure that they are provided with as much information as possible before making their choices.
